Happy Thursday to all my wine lovers! One of my favorite travelers shared pictures from her recent trip to Istanbul, Turkey. She also had the chance to enjoy a bottle of Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2012. If you know me, you know I am a huge cabernet lover! I have not had the opportunity to try this wine, but I hear its a brand I would thoroughly enjoy having in my collection. Fruit from Ovacık, Çeşme in the coastal Aegean region. Deep, inky ruby with dusty nose showing vanilla upfront followed by damson and ripe black fruit. Overbearing oak flavors on the attack, medium weight, supple, black fruity palate. Ripe, medium grained tannins getting firmer towards the end. With their gravity flow winery, which is the first and only one of its kind in Turkey, Büyülübağ ensures that wine movement is slower, and therefore gentler and more controllable. The resulting wine is better because it has been moved in a more delicate manner that preserves its inherent qualities. Today Büyülübağ Winery and Vineyards produce stylish, elegant and rich wines that already won medals at national and international wine competitions. I also read it pairs well with everything! Sounds like my kind of wine! Happy Thursday & Happy Travels!
