Happy Scandalous Thursday!! Malbec is one of my favorite types of red wine. Even when the summer hits, Malbec is still a great go-to-wine for even the most sweltering of days. Typically known as a bold, robust wine, Malbec can be suprisingly refreshing, especially when you're outdoors and the temps are rising. Gascon wines reflect Argentina's rich winemaking history and the vibrant culture of its country. The grapes are selected from some of Mendoza's most prestigious high altitude vineyards, and its crafted Malbec wines to reflect the undeniable energy of Argentina. This classic Malbec offers a flavorful alternative to typical red wine, while it's elegant Reserva delivers their best fruit in a decadent palate with balanced notes of oak. Its bold red blend, Colosal, brings Malbec, Bonarda, Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon together for an unforgettable Argentine red. There is only one type of wine that you'll see with Gascon name, and that is Malbec. This is a big wine that gives loads of blackberry and plum flavors up front, leading into cocoa that carries into a fairly long finish. Fine tinnains and sufficient acidity give this wine reasonable structure. When the time comes to choose a dinner wine, it's got to be Malbec. Here's why: Malbec has softer tannis compared to some of it's red counterparts, like Cabernet Sauvignon, which means Malbec goes well with lean cuts of meat like flank, sirloin and skirt steak.
